Judge Sampson is a St Leonards-on-Sea based designer and manufacturer of tourist gifts and we now have a vacancy to join our dynamic and interesting company.
The pre-press team is looking for someone primarily to operate our digital machinery, to process our production and output and to take part in shared responsibilities in our creative, enthusiastic and bustling environment.
The role will require you to work with codes, quantities and descriptions seen in order forms on a daily basis, every job is different; meaning strong attention to detail is essential. You will also need to possess an ability to organise and prioritise. Certain jobs will require editing or reworking to achieve the best result meaning you will need good knowledge of design software and a critical eye.
The main responsibilities include:
Ensuring the incoming production jobs are produced to agreed schedules and quality.
Administering the paper flow in the department.
Keeping the digital printing press, the die-cutter and sublimation printers running smoothly.
Managing stock levels of papers, inks and toners.
Updating publications with new information when necessary.
Regular communication with the team and other departments.
Occasional liaising with customers, principally via email.
A basic knowledge of the Adobe creative suite.
A knowledge for word processing, spreadsheets, creating/editing PDFs and general use of software.
Able to learn quickly and to share your skill-set.
An ability to organise and prioritise tasks.
A strong ability to communicate.
Capacity to learn print techniques, colour matching and paper qualities if necessary.
This is a 40 hour a week role working Monday to Friday.
